A Funny Story about “Deployment”
Once upon a time a Client needed to fix a critical mistake in their code.
They had misspelled the word “deploy” as “deply” throughout their codebase.
The software team tried to correct the spelling mistake and re-deployed the feature. but to the team horror, every time it was corrected in one place, it would reappear in another. Finally, the Client decided to just embrace the mistake and leave the misspelled word in the code.
The feature went live, and users started using it. But instead of seeing a button that said “deploy,” they saw one that said “deply.”
The Client was initially embarrassed, but to their surprise, thier users found it hilarious. The misspelled word became a running joke on the site, and users even started asking for t-shirts with “deply” printed on them.
Sometimes mistakes can lead to unexpected outcomes, and that a little bit of humor can go a long way in making a deployment memorable!
